Natural Beekeeping Course

In this course there are 5 different classes that we will hold. Each will cover certain aspects of natural beekeeping and set you up for success in the coming season. Details for each session are as follows.

Session 1.  Natural Beekeeping Overview – Tuesday January 21st 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm We will be discussing the basics of natural beekeeping and what you need to know to understand the difference between natural and commercial beekeeping its’ value and methods. This class is $55.

Session 2.  Hive Building Day   –   Wednesday February 22nd at 9 am and ends when we finish.  Usually, a 4-to-5-hour process.  You will build your hive(s) and frames.  As a group we will all pitch in and assemble hives and frames for the class and receive instruction on the purpose of the J-Zutin hive style.  The class itself is $75.  There is an additional cost per hive. To purchase your hive kit(s) for the class click here.  Location TBD based on weather and majority of participants locations.

Session 3.  Spring Field Day (Spring Startup) –   Saturday March 22nd 9 am – 1 pm. We will be demonstrating installing bees and setting up the hive for spring and how to set swarm traps.  We will have bee packages available then for those that purchased packages. This class is $55.

Session 4 Mid-Summer Field Day (Brood inspection and mite control techniques) Saturday June 14th at 9 am – 1 pm.  We will be covering brood breaking and why it is critical.  And what to look for to maintain healthy hives.  This class is $55.

Session 5 Fall Field Day Harvest and Wintering September 20th 9 am – 1 pm.  We will discuss how to manage your harvest and hives for winter in October.  Also how to help bees be ready for winter if they are weak.  This class is $55.

Live Q and A Held weekly for the full season is $99.   We will hold online meetings each week to cover question students have.  So, each student can ask their questions and hear answers for all questions asked.  Helpful for getting solutions to things you will encounter in between and after sessions.

If session were Individually purchased they all come to $394.   If you purchase the entire course up front you will receive a $45 discount and the full course only comes s to $349.

*Due to weather, we may be forced to change a date here and there as all thing’s bees are weather related.  In the case of this we will do our best to coordinate with all participants so that we can make things work in the case you are unable to meet on specific dates we will offer a make-up date.  We do not offer refunds once the courses start.

**We will also have bee packages available around the middle of April depending on the weather and shipments.. They are three pound packages with a queen the price per package is $175.
